December 12, the Seventh Annual Conference of Shanghai Social Sciences Association was held at the Friendship Hall, Shanghai Exhibition Center. President Li Chuwen of Shanghai Social Sciences Association gave the opening speech. Yang Zhenwu, member of Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPC and Director of Publicity Department of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, attended the meeting and gave a speech. Pan Shiwei, Deputy Director of Publicity Department of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Shanghai Social Sciences Association hosted the meeting. SIIS President Yang Jiemian was seated in the front row on the rostrum and he presented awards to the representatives of this year’s excellent papers. He presided over a panel on behalf of the disciplines of world economy, international politics and international relations and gave a speech of “Evolutions of China’s Diplomatic Ideas and Strategic Definitions” as a part of “famous experts’ speeches.” SIIS scholars that won the Excellent Papers Award, including Yan Anlin and Zhang Zhongxiang, attended the meeting. This year, five papers of SIIS authors have won the Excellent Papers Award and four papers were chosen as abstracted papers. The winning papers of SIIS authors are among the tops in Shanghai both in terms of the sum and per person.
