March 5, SIIS held a seminar of “New Conditions of Reconstructing International System and Peaceful Development of Cross-Straits Ties” as the fourth of the serial seminars for the 50th anniversary of the founding of SIIS. Experts and scholars from both sides of the Straits discussed extensively on the current international configuration, the American and Japanese factor in the development of Cross-Straits ties and so on. SIIS President Yang Jiemian, Vice President Chen Dongxiao, Director Yu Xintian and Deputy Director Wu Jinan of Academic Committee, Executive Director Yan Anlin and Deputy Director Shao Yuqun of Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macao Studies, Director Li Xiushi of Japanese Studies, and Executive Director Wu Chunsi of American Studies attended the seminar.
