May 6, Hua Jianmin, Vice Chairman, 11th Standing Committee of the NPC, visited SIIS. SIIS President Yang Jiemian introduced SIIS’development in the 50 years of history, and reported SIIS’recent achievements in think tank construction, researchers training, serving the World EXPO and so on. Vice Chairman Hua also discussed about Chinese-Russian and Chinese-Japanese relations and the development of China’s diplomacy with SIIS scholars. He offered his congratulations to the 50th anniversary of the founding of SIIS, and encouraged all SIIS members to take further steps to contribute more to China’s diplomacy.
