May 31, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shaukat Aziz, visited SIIS. PM Aziz congratulated SIIS on its 50th anniversary, and talked with President Yang Jiemian, Vice President Chen Dongxiao, Director Yu Xintian of Academic Studies, Director Ma Ying of Asia-Pacific Studies, Deputy Director Wu Chunsi of Foreign Policy Studies, Deputy Director Ye Qing of Global Governance Studies, and research fellows Jin Liangxiang, Liu Zongyi, Wang Weihua, and Zhang Jun about situation in South Asia and global challenges in the post-financial crisis era.
