“China’s Role in Post-Conflict Peace Operations in Africa” Workshop held in SIIS

March 25, the “China’s Role in Post-Conflict Peace Operations in Africa” Workshop, co-sponsored by Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) and South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA) was held in SIIS. SIIS Vice President Chen Dongxiao attended the workshop and made the opening remark. The guests from the SAIIA delegation, Dr. Chris Alden, Head of the China in Africa Project, SAIIA, and Prof. Dan Large, Research Director, Africa Asia Centre, SOAS and so forth together with SIIS research fellows, Prof. Zhang Zhongxiang, Deputy Director of Asia-Africa Studies, and Dr. Zhang Chun, Deputy Director of Asia-Africa Studies and a few other young researchers had in-depth discussions on China’s perception in security issues of Africa and China’s role and contribution in post-conflict peace operations in Africa.
