March 11, Mr. John B. Bellinger III, Legal Adviser to the U.S. Department of State from 2005 to 2009 under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice visited SIIS. President Yang Jiemian met with the American guests cordially. Dr. Ye Qing of Institute for Global Governance Studies and a few other research fellows of SIIS joined the meeting. Both sides had discussions on the issues of the stance of U.S. Government on international law, setting of no-fly zones in Libya and the role of the United Nations in Libya.
