I was pleased to have learnt that Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) will hold a seminar commemorating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of China-Israel diplomatic relations. As Chinese ambassador to Israel, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the Seminar, and my most sincere greetings to all the distinguished participants.
The Chinese and Jewish peoples have had friendship of thousand years. During World War II, China’s generous assistance further deepened this friendship. In the twenty years since the two countries established diplomatic relations, China-Israel bilateral political relations have become increasingly mature, and bilateral economic and trade relations have been promoted steadily. Our well-developed pragmatic cooperation and ever deepening friendship have brought substantial benefits to the people of our two countries. China-Israel academic exchanges, becoming more and more vigorous, have greatly enhanced our mutual trust, mutual understanding and friendship as well. The SIIS Seminar at the very moment of the 20th anniversary is both academic summing-up of the twenty years’ development of the relations between the two and helpful for exploring further and comprehensively promoting our relations, and will surely facilitate the future development of China-Israel relations.
I strongly believe that the joint endeavor of our two governments and people will bring a more bright future of China-Israel relations! China-Israel academic exchanges will become even closer. Best wishes for the great success of the Seminar.
