June 23, with the guidance from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the SIIS, cooperating with Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Shanghai Association of International Relations, Shanghai Association for Japanese Studies and Shanghai Center of Japanese Research and Exchanges, hold the “International Conferences on Commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of Normalization of Diplomatic Relations between China and Japan”. Former Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan , former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, Director of Foreign Affair Committee of CPPCC Zhao Qizhen attend meeting and deliver the keynote speeches. Party Secretary of SSSA Shen Guoming and Deputy Consul-General of Japan Consulate in Shanghai Koichi Maruyama also deliver the speeches. SIIS President Yang Jiemian chairs the meeting. More than 200 guests from different institutions including Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China Academy of Social Science, Tsinghua University and the Japan Foundation also attend the conference.
