June 11, SIIS and the World Bank hold the International Conference on “Meeting New Challenges in Furthering International Development Cooperation and Role of Emerging Economies”. SIIS president Yang Jiemian and Vice President Chen Dongxiao attend and chair the meeting. Mr. Trotsenburg, Axel van, Vice President of the World Bank and Mr. Chen Shixin, Deputy Director General of International Department at the Ministry of Finance, deliver the opening remarks and keynote speeches. The scholars and experts from the World Bank, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, SIIS, SASS, East China Normal University, Centre for Policy Research New Delhi, and, South Korean Ministry of Strategy and Finance (MOSF) discuss a variety issues including World Bank’s role in new era, international finance institution reform, international aid system and emerging economies role.
