September 4-6, The Shanghai Institutes for International Studies and the Institute of Asian Research of UBC hold the International Conference on “China-Canada Relations：New Dimensions in Cooperation” . SIIS President Yang Jiemian meets all the participants. Vice President Chen Dongxiao, Prof. Zhao Gancheng and Dr. Wu Chunsi from the Institutes for International Strategic Studies, Dr. Zhang Haibing, Executive Director of the Institute for World Economic Studies, and some other research fellows participate the conference. The two-day conference also invites many officials and scholars from MFA of China, Tsinghua University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Goldman Sachs Asia, ACDEG Group, McGill University, University of Alberta and Canadian Embassy in Beijing. The participants have a deep discussion on China-Canadian cooperation in the field of economy, international institution, energy and environment.
