March 20, the Consulate of Mexico in Shanghai and SIIS co-host the event in commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between United Mexican States and the People’s Republic of China. The two institutions invite Prof. Enrique Dussel Peters, Coordinator of the China/Mexico Studies Center at the National Autonomous University in Mexico (UNAM) to share his understanding of the issue on “Mexico-China Relationship in the Past 40 Years: Present and Challenges”. SIIS Vice President Chen Dongxiao and Mr. Rolando García Alonso, Consul-General of Mexico in Shanghai deliver felicitation speeches for the event. Prof. Zhang Mingde, SIIS Senior Fellow on Latin American Studies gives a speech on “China-Mexican Relations: History and Prospects”.
