At the invitation of SIIS, Hon. Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, Minister of Fiji Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation visits Shanghai from October 4th to 6th with a 6-person delegation. On October 5, the delegation visits SIIS and has a roundtable discussion with Chinese experts headed by SIIS President Yang Jiemian to exchange each side’s views on the Fiji diplomats’ training courses, South Pacific Ocean situation, regional mechanism building, Fiji foreign policy, etc. SIIS Vice President Chen Dongxiao, Dr. Ye Qing, SIIS President Assistant, Prof. Zhao Gancheng, Director of the Center of South Asian Studies, Prof. Ma Ying and Prof. Cai Penghong, senior research fellows of the Center for Ocean &Polar Studies and the Center for Asian Pacific Studies, Dr. Yu Hongyuan, Deputy Director of the Institute for Comparative Politics and Public Policy Studies and other research fellows also participate the meeting and the subsequent dinner.
