SIIS holds the International Symposium on “China and the EU in a Multipolar World”

September 8, Co-hosted by the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), and the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), the International Symposium on “China and the EU in a Multipolar World” is held in SIIS. SIIS President Yang Jiemian meets all the participants of the symposium. SIIS Vice President Chen Dongxiao, Ms. Catrina Schläger, Resident Director of FES Shanghai Office, and Mr. François Godement, Head of China Programme of ECFR deliver the opening remarks. The half-day symposium invites Mr. Andrzej Olechowski, former Foreign Minister of Poland, Ms. Teresa Gouveia, former Foreign Minister of Portugal, and Ms. Ana Palacio, former Foreign Minister of Spain and General Counsel of the World Bank Group, and some other well-known scholars and government officials from Bulgaria, France, Germany, and Romania. The participants have an in-depth discussion on the emerging world configuration, the status quo of China and Europe in the new world system, and the future of China-Europe relation.
