May 24, SIIS holds the Conference on “China’s Foreign Policy towards Middle East and its Relations with Middle East Countries under the New Circumstances”. SIIS President Yang Jiemian delivers the opening remarks. Mr. Yang Fuchang, former Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Wang Shijie, 1st special envoy of Middle East issues, Mr. Wu Sike, current special envoy of Middle East issues attend the meeting.  Mr. Xiao Junzheng, Counselor of the department of West Asian and North African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivers a keynote speech. Experts from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), Ningxia Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Beijing International Studies University, Northwest University, Xinhua News Agency and SIIS exchange their ideas about the internal and external changes of China’s foreign policy towards Middle East, the general objectives, strategic key points, policy difficulties, new ideas and proposals of China’s foreign policy towards Middle East in the coming five years.
