SIIS Holds the Workshop on "Protecting Energy Interest Abroad: Chinese and European approaches and experiences"

September 2-3, The Shanghai Institutes for International Studies and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute co-hold the workshop on "Protecting Energy Interest Abroad: Chinese and European approaches and experiences". SIIS President Chen Dongxiao and Dr. Mathieu Duchâtel deliver the opening remarks. The two-day workshop invites Chinese scholars from Energy Research Institute at National Development and Reform Commission, Renmin University of China, Yunnan University, Xinjiang Academy for Social Sciences, Ningxia Development and Reform Commission, Fudan University, East China University of Political Science & Law, Shanghai International Studies University and foreign scholars from SIPRI, German Council on Foreign Relations, Control Risks, French Defense Historical Service, George Washington University, Henry Jackson Foundation. Experts and scholars have deep discussions on energy security risk assessment and emergency response mechanisms, cases of Middle East, Northern Africa, and Central Asia and the possibilities for China-Europe Cooperation.
