December 5-6, SIIS holds international conference on “China-Southeast Asia Relations and the Taiwan Question”. Participants from Singapore, Thailand, Lao, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Fiji and China have heated discussions on “Asia-Pacific Development Posture”, “Prospects of China-Southeast Asia Relations under the Backdrop of Regional Cross-Straits Relations”, “Economic, Political & Social Situation in Taiwan”, “Peaceful Development of the Cross-Straits Relations: Prospects and Challenges”. Researchers from our Institutes, including Prof. Yang Jiemian, Chairman of the Council of SIIS Academic Affairs and Prof. Yu Xintian, Director of the Advisory Committee, attend the conference. President Chen Dongxiao and Vice President Yang Jian also have exchanges with the participants.
