On May 22, 2014, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS)，in collaboration with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beijing and Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) , co-hosted a breakfast meeting between H.E. Mr. Hassan Rouhani, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Chinese scholars. Prof. Yang Jiemian, Chairman of Academic Council of SIIS, moderated the meeting. H.E. President Rouhani delivered a keynote speech on the international and regional developments, China-Iran relationship, the important role of think-tank and cooperation between think-tanks of both countries, followed by interactions with Chinese scholars from SIIIS, SISU, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), China International Institute for Strategic Society (CIISS) and Beijing Foreign Studies University. H.E. Mohammad Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister of Iran, H.E. Mr. Mahdi Safari, Ambassador of Iran to China and other Iranian delegates attended the Meeting. Prof.Wang Weiguang, President of CASS, Ambassador Wang Shijie and Ambassador Hua Liming, Former Chinese Ambassadors to Iran, Prof.Chen Dongxiao, President of SIIS, Prof.Yang Jian, Vice President of SIIS, Prof.Jiang Feng, Chairman of the University Council, SISU, Prof.Cao Deming, President of SISU and other Chinese scholars also attended the meeting.
