From September 15 to 16, SIIS holds “the 11^th Annual Conference on the Taiwan Issue in China-Europe Relations”. SIIS President Chen Dongxiao and Prof. Gudrun Wacker, Senior Associate of Asia Division of German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) deliver the opening remarks. Experts from Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, England, Germany, and Slovenia have a heated discussion on new development and trends of the international and European situation, new features and trends of China-Europe relations, new trends in Cross-Strait relations, new features and changes of the political situation in Taiwan. Mr. DUN Shixin, Director of the Department of Hong Kong, Macao and Overseas Affairs Related to Taiwan, Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, interacts with the participants. Officials from Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council PRC, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC, and Taiwan Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal Government also attend the conference.
