Prof. Yang Jiemian Leads SIIS Delegation to Sri Lanka

December 10 through 13, 2014, Professor Yang Jiemian, Chairman of the SIIS Academic Committee, led SIIS delegation to Sri Lanka. The delegation exchanged viewpoints with Sri Lankan officials and scholars on such issues as how China and Sri Lanka enhance cooperation to promote a nexus community of interest and development. The visit also touched greatly on the construction and collaboration of the 21st Maritime Silk Road. During the visit in Sri Lanka, the delegation was received by H.E. Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne. The delegation also called a visit on Hon. Minister of External Affairs G.L. Peiris. The delegation held discussion with think tanks Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute for International Relation and Strategic Studies (LKIIRSS) and Pathfinder Foundation, and paid a visit to PRC embassy in Sri Lanka and Colombo International Container Terminals (CICT).
