December 16 through 19, 2014, Professor Yang Jiemian, Chairman of the SIIS Academic Committee, led SIIS delegation to Laos. The delegation exchanged with Lao officials and scholars on the issue of enhancing cooperation in strategic thinking within the bilateral and multilateral frameworks. During the visit in Laos, the delegation was received by H.E. Phankham Viphavanh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Sport and H.E. Dr. Kikeo Khaykhamphithoun, President of the Propaganda and Training of Party Central Committee. The delegation also paid a visit to Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs and mes with H.E. Alounkeo Kittikoun, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, and had discussion with Department of Asia-Pacific and Africa. The delegation visited Academy of Social Sciences and Confucius Institute in National University of Laos, and the PRC embassy in Laos. At the invitation of Institute of Foreign Affairs of Laos, Professor Yang Jiemian delivered a speech on China’s Foreign Policy and Visions to the Lao officials and scholars.
