On May 14^th, SIIS and the Cuba Consulate General in Shanghai jointly held the seminar on the “A Sino-Cuban Relationship towards Common Development” to commemorate the 55^th Anniversary of Sino-Cuba Diplomatic Relations. President Chen Dongxiao gave welcome remarks. Cuba Consul-General Mr. Lorenzo Rodriguez Ariel gave keynote speech. Academics and scholars from Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai Academy of Social Science and SIIS participated the seminar. Participants reviewed the history of Sino-Cuba friendship and delved into the challenges and opportunities for Sino-Cuba relations. Participants of seminar pointed out that, both China and Cuba are on the new phase of development with increasingly diversified external relations. China and Latin America are marching towards a new phase of comprehensive cooperation, so China and Cuba are facing the opportunity of deepening the economic and cultural cooperation.
