On June 24^th, SIIS held a workshop on the issue of modernization in India, participants from Fudan University, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai International Studies University and SIIS discussed the goal, reality and outlook of the modernization in India. Dr. Zhao Gancheng, director of the Center for Asia Pacific Studies chaired the discussion.
