On Feb. 26, 2016, a workshop on “The Paris Climate Change Conference and New Development of Global Governance: A Shanghai Perspective” was held at SIIS. Prof. Yang Jian, Vice President of SIIS gave a keynote speech on the climate change in Arctic region. Prof. Zou Ji, Deputy Director of the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC) shared his observation on the negotiation of the Paris Agreement and China’s contribution. Experts from Shanghai Municipal Urban and Rural Construction and Transportation Commission, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tongji University, East China University of Political Science and Law, Polar Research Institute of China, Shanghai Futures Exchange, China Energy Fund Committee etc. proposed their suggestions on China’s engagement in the global climate governance from technical, diplomatic and financial perspectives.
