President Chen Dongxiao Leads a Delegation to Visit Hungary

On May 9, SIIS delegation led by President Chen Dongxiao visited Budapest. During the stay, the delegation met with Mr. Dániel Palotai, Executive Director and Chief Economist at National Bank of Hungary (Magyar Nemzeti Bank), Mr. László Vasa, Deputy Director General of Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT, a Hungarian think tank under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade), and Dr. László Csicsmann, dean (Faculty of Social Sciences) at Corvinus University of Budapest. The two sides exchanged views on Europe’s multiple challenges, the prospect of European integration, Europe’s expectation for China, China-EU partnership, and 16+1 cooperation. President Chen Dongxiao was also invited by Mr. Duan Jielong, Chinese ambassador to Hungary, to deliver a report on recent global issues at the embassy. Later he exchanged views with Ambassador Duan on China-EU cooperation, and China’s role in Asia-Pacific security.
