On April 14， 2016， the 2016 Seminar on Cooperation and Governance Capacity Building for Silk Road Economic Belt Central and Eastern European Countries and an international workshop on “One Belt and One Road”Initiative and “16+1”Cooperation was held at SIIS. Mr. Zou Chuanming, Vice President of the Academy for International Business Officials, Ministry of Commerce, and Prof. Chen Dongxiao, President of SIIS gave welcome remarks at the opening ceremony. Ms. Zhao Baige, member of the NPC Standing Committee, Vice Chair of the NPC Foreign Affairs Committee, Chair of the Advisory Committee of CASS-RDI, and Prof. Yang Jiemian, Chairman of Academic Committee, SIIS delivered keynote speeches. The opening ceremony was moderated by Prof. Zhang Yinghong, director of the Center for European Studies, SIIS. Nearly 40  experts, officials and businessmen from China and Central & Eastern European countries had a discussion on the development of China-CEEC cooperation, “One Belt and One Road” Initiative, and the interaction between the two parts. This seminar aims to establish a practical communication platform under the framework of “One Belt and One Road”, promoting communication and cooperation between China and Central & Eastern European industries and commercial sectors.
