On August 11, 2016, a roundtable on Water nexus in the China and Southeast Asia Relations was held at SIIS and chaired by Prof. Yu Hongyuan, director of the Institute for Comparative Politics and Public Policy Studies. Dr. Daniel Garret, senior associate from the Asia Institute (U.S.), Prof. Khin Zaw Win, Khin Maung Nyo from the Tampadipa Institute (Myanmar), and Mr. Saykham Voladet from the National Bureau of Economic Research of Laos etc. had a discussion on the governance of water source of Southeast Asia countries, the implementation of the Lancang-Mekong River program in the U.S., and the cooperation of China and countries in the Mekong River region etc. Dr. Caojiahan from SIIS and Dr. Chen Jiliang from Greenovation also joined the discussion.
