​The 21st China-ROK Future Forum held in Shanghai

On July 1, 2016, hosted by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and Korea Foundation, the 21st China-ROK Future Forum was organized by SIIS in Shanghai Hongqiao State Guest House. The opening ceremony was chaired by Mr. Peng Keyu, Vice President of CPIFA. Mr. Zhao Qizheng, Consultant of CPIFA and former Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Mr. Lee Sihyung, President of the Korea Foundation delivered opening remarks. Prof. Chen Dongxiao, President of SIIS, Mr. Hong Ihk Pyo, member of the National Assembly of ROK, and Mr. Han Suk-hee, Consul-General of ROK in Shanghai gave their warm congratulations. More than 50 participants including senior officials and renowned scholars from China and ROK in the field of international studies and economics as well as journalists had a discussion on the status quo and future of China-ROK relations, economic cooperation in the framework of G20, the transformation of Korean Peninsular situation and its impact etc. Mr. Zhang Tingyan, first Chinese Ambassador to ROK and Mr. Yoon Young-kwan, Professor Emeritus of Seoul National University and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of ROK gave closing remarks.
