Seminar on the U.S. General Election and Social Trend held in SIIS

On July 29, 2016, a seminar on the U.S. General Election and Social Trend was co-sponsored by SIIS and Shanghai Association of International Studies. Nearly 20 scholars attended the seminar which was presided by Prof. Shao Yuqun, director of the Institute for Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao Studies of SIIS, including experts from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chinese Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Fudan University, Tongji University etc. Prof. Yang Jiemian, chairman of SIIS Academic Council & President of Shanghai Association of International Studies gave opening remarks. The participants had a discussion on the U.S. social trend,the prospect of the general election, and the domestic and foreign policies of the new administration.
