From March 5 to March 8, SIIS delegation led by Prof. Yang Jiemian, Chairman of SIIS Academic Council, visited Lebanon. During the stay, the delegation met with Mr. Tammam Saeb Salam, Prime Minister of Lebanon, Mr. Michel Suleiman, former President of Lebanon, Mr. Amine Gemayel, former President of Lebanon, and Mr. Jiang Jiang, Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon. The delegation later visited the Carnegie Middle East Center, and the two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, China’s policy toward Arab countries, the situation in the Middle East, the development of international order, and think-tank cooperation. Prof. Yang Jiemian was also invited to deliver a speech entitled “China’s Foreign Relations: Theories & Approaches” at Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs, AUB.
