the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Afica Cooperation

On Septebmer 27th, 2008, the Department of Western Asian and African Studies, Shanghai Institutes for Internaitonal Studies, hosted “the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Afica Cooperation,” a conference intended for discussions among domestic scholars. The major themes of this conference include the evaluation of the implementation of the 2006 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the international responses to and assessments of the Summit, and policy suggestions regarding the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Governmental officials and academic shcolars from Beijing, Suzhou and Shanghai, and the organizations including China International Studies Foundation, China Daily, Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development, Suzhou University, the African Studies Center of Shanghai Normal University, and Fudan University are among both the invidual and institutional participants of this conference.
