The annual seminar between SIIS and Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS) was held in Shanghai on July 10, 2008, with the theme of “New Trends of China and Myanmar Foreign Policies and the New Development of Sino-Myanmar Relations.” The participants exchanged their views on the current international situation, Chinese and Myanmar foreign policies, the role of Sino-Myanmar relationship in ASEAN and East Asia cooperation, as well as the prospects of future Sino-Myanmar cooperation. Both sides agreed to further deepen the academic exchange for even greater contribution to the enhancement of the friendly relationship between both countries.
