Former Prime Minister of Canada Visits SIIS, Attending Conference on “Chinese Presidency of the G20 in 2016”

On Oct. 29th, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), Center for International Governance Innovation (CIGI, Canada), and Canadian Consulate General in Shanghai jointly held a conference on Chinese Presidency of the G20 in 2016. The Right Honourable Paul Martin, Former Prime Minister of Canada and the Inaugural Chair of the Finance Ministers’ G20 was invited to give key note. President Chen Dongxiao and Mr. Andres Rozental, CIGI Board Member and Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (Mexico) gave opening remarks. Mr. Weldon EPP, Canadian Consulate General in Shanghai and Mr. Arturo Puente Ortega, Mexican Consulate General in Shanghai participated in the conference.




Morning Section: World Economic Challenges and Chinese Presidency of the G20 in 2016, chaired by Mr. Graham Shantz, Director General for the North Asia Bureau, Department of Foreign Affairs, Canada.
Afternoon Section: Chinese Presidency of the G20 in 2016: Priorities, Challenges and Risks, chaired by Prof. Zhang Haibing, Director of the Institute for World Eonomy Studies, SIIS.
