On May 6, 2016, a delegation from National Defense University, Pakistan visited SIIS. Headed by Major General Noel Israel Khokhar, Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies, Research and Analysis (ISSRA) of NDU, the delegation consisted of staff from Pakistan military and foreign affairs ministry and also joined by Nigeria, Iran, Sudan and Turkey members. President Chen Dongxiao hosted a roundtable for the NDU delegation with the participation of Prof. Wu Chunsi, director of the Institute for International Strategic Studies, Prof. Shao Yuqun, director of the Institute for Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao Studies, and Prof. Zhao Gancheng, etc. The two sides had a discussion on “One Belt One Road” strategy and China-Pakistan economic corridor, the U.S. General election, the role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and Afghan peace talks etc.
