On May 12, 2016, delegation of Macao Region China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Unification visited SIIS headed by its Chairman Mr. Lao Ngai Leong and escorted by Mr. Xu Mang, Director-General of Taiwan Affairs Department, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region, Prof. Yan Anlin, Vice President of SIIS hosted a meeting and delivered a keynote speech on the Cross Strait Relations after 520. The two sides also had a discussion on the influence of outside forces such as the U.S. and Japan on the Cross Strait relations, Hong Kong and Macao’s role in the Cross Strait relations after DPP coming to power etc.
