On May 20, 2016, a delegation of Institute of Political and International Studies (IPIS, Iran) visited SIIS headed by H.E. Mr. Hadi Soleimanpour, Deputy Foreign Minister and Executive Director of Center for International Education and Research. President Chen Dongxiao hosted a meeting with the IPIS delegation joined by Prof. Wang Jian, director of the Institute of History, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Prof. Wu Chunsi, director of the Institute of International Strategic Studies, and Prof. Zhang Haibing, director of the Institute for World Economic Studies. The two sides had a discussion on the opportunities and challenges brought by the “One Belt and One Road” Initiative to China and Iran. Prof. Yang Jiemian, Chairman of SIIS Academic Council also met with the IPIS delegation.
