On May 25, 2016, Mr. Kenichi Okada, Deputy Consul-General from the Consulate-General of Japan in Shanghai visited SIIS. Prof. Yan Anlin, Vice President of SIIS met with Mr. Okada and his colleagues. The two sides had a discussion on the future of Cross-Strait relations after May 20, the interpretation of Ms. Tsai Ing-wen’s inaugural address and Chinese Mainland’s policy toward Taiwan etc. Ms. Li Fangxia, deputy director of the department for international exchanges and Dr. Tong Liqun from the Institute for Taiwan, Hongkong, and Macao Studies also joined the meeting.
