On May 26, 2016, Mr. Jonathan Crawford, Political Consul and Mr. Steven Angel, Defense Liaison Officer from the Consulate-General of the U.S. in Shanghai visited SIIS. They had a discussion with Dr. Tong Liqun from the Institute for Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao Studies on Ms. Tsai Ing-wen’s inaugural address and Cross-Strait relations. They also had a meeting with Prof. Zhang Yao, Dr. Xue Chen and Dr. Xue Lei from the Center for Marine and Polar Studies on the South China Sea issue.
