On July 1, 2016, Mr. TARUMI Hideo, Deputy Director-General of Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan visited SIIS escorted by consuls from the Consulate-General of Japan in Shanghai. VP Yan Anlin hosted a meeting joined by Dr. Tong Liqun and Ms. Ji Yixin, research fellows from the Institute for Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao Studies. The two sides had a discussion on China-Japan relations, Taiwan-Japan relations, political situation in Taiwan and Cross-strait relations after DPP coming into power.
