On July 19, 2016, Mr. William L. Ball, 67^th Secretary of the Navy in the U.S. led a group of the Asia Foundation (U.S.) to SIIS. They met with President Chen Dongxiao and also had a discussion with Prof. Shao Yuqun, director of the Institute for Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao Studies, Dr. Zhang Zhexin and Dr. Feng Shuai on the U.S. presidential election and U.S.-China relations.
