On July 28, 2016, a delegation of NATO Parliamentary Assembly visited SIIS headed by Mr.Karl A. LAMERS, Chairperson of the Sub-Committee on NATO Partnerships. The group was composed of more than 20 NATO PA members from Germany, Italy, UK, Latvia, Spain, Turkey etc. and was escorted by Consul General of Germany in ShanghaiMr.Peter Rothen and Deputy Consul General of Italy in Shanghai Mr. Gabriele De Stefano. SIIS President Chen Dongxiao hosted a meeting and delivered a keynote speech on China’s foreign policy in a new era. Prof. Xiang Lanxin, director of the Center for “One Belt and One Road” Studies in Shanghai University of Political Science and Law also gave a lecture on the “One Belt and One Road”initiative. Prof. Wu Chunsi, director of the Institute for International Strategic Studies and Ms. Li Fangxia, deputy director of the department of international exchanges also participated in the discussion.
