On September 19, 2016, Mr. Jordan Ryan, Vice President for Peace Program at the Carter Center (U.S.) led a group to SIIS. Prof. Yang Jiemian, Chairman of SIIS Academic Affairs Council had a meeting with the group. The two sides had a discussion on the trilateral cooperation among China, U.S. and Africa. Prof. Shao Yuqun, director of the Institute for Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao Studies, Prof. Zhang Chun, deputy director of the Institute for Foreign Policy Studies, and Dr. Zhu Ming from the Center for West Asian and African Studies also joined the meeting.
