On November 2, 2016, Minister Counsellor Asad BEG, Head of Political, Press and Information section, European Commission Delegation in China visited SIIS. He had a meeting with President Chen Dongxiao. The two sides agreed to enhance mutual communication and contribute to the development of China-Europe relations. Minister Counsellor Asad Beg also had a discussion with Prof. Shao Yuqun, director of the Institute for Taiwan, Hongkong, Macao Studies and Dr. Xue Chen on China-US relation, security aspects of One Belt and One Road Initiative, and China’s relations with Northeast and Southeast Asian countries etc.
