On November 10, 2016, SIIS President Chen Dongxiao delivered a keynote speech on The Global Economic Governance: New Development, China’s New Role and Think Tanks’ New Task at the 2016 Shanghai Global Think Tank Forum of Think Tanks for Community of Shared Destiny: Cooperation, Innovation and Prosperity in Shanghai.

This forum was co-hosted by TTRC, TTCSP and CCG with almost 150 participants from more than 20 overseas think tanks and 40 domestic ones. Experts from China, U.S., Britain, France, South Korea, Japan, and Italy had a discussion on the role of think tanks in enhancing global governance and building community of common destiny.

President Chen shared his observations with regard to how to adapt to the new developments in global economic governance and how to build up China’s global governance capability in a comprehensive way. He pointed out that Chinese think tanks should make more valuable intellectual contributions to China’s deeper engagement in the global governance system.
