On November 21-22, 2016, the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) and China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) co-sponsored the Sixth Sino-Nordic Think Tank Roundtable. Prof. Dong Manyuan, Vice President of CIIS chaired the opening session. Mr. Chen Xu, Director General of the Department of European Affairs of Chinese MFA and Mr. Mats Karlsson, Director of the Swedish Institute of International Affairs delivered opening remarks. Prof. Jiang Bo, Vice President of Tongji University chaired the public dialogue session. Prof. Zhou Hong, President of the China Association of European Studies, Prof. Yang Jiemian, Chairman of SIIS Academic Affairs Council, Prof. Cui Hongjian, Director of the Department of European Studies of CIIS, Amb. B?rje Ljunggren, Senior Associate Fellow of the Swedish Institute of International Affairs and former Swedish Ambassador to China, Dr. Pia Hansson, Director of the Institute of International Affairs of the University of Iceland, and Dr. Hans Mouritzen, Senior Research Fellow of the Danish Institute for International Studies made keynote speeches. The conference, under the theme of “China and Nordic Countries in a Globalized World”, delve into the opportunities and risks in global and regional governance, China of Asia and Nordic Countries of Europe, and the current situation and prospects of sub-regional cooperation between China and Nordic countries.
