On Dec.15, 2016, Dr. Douglas Paal, Vice President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace visited SIIS. President Chen Dongxiao and Prof. Yang Jiemian, Chairman of Academic Affairs Council met with Dr. Paal. They had a discussion on the U.S. general election, domestic and foreign policy after the election etc.
