On Dec. 21^st, 2016, Dr. Barnett R. Rubin, Senior Fellow and Associate Director of CIC’s Afghanistan Pakistan Regional Program of New York University (U.S.) visited SIIS. Prof. Chen Dongxiao, SIIS President had a meeting with Dr. Rubin and exchanged views on the Afghanistan and Pakistan policy of the Trump administration. Prof. Rubin also had a discussion with Prof. Shao Yuqun, Prof. Wu Chunsi, Prof. Zhao Gancheng, Prof. Liu Zongyi and their colleagues on the diplomatic efforts in the Afghan peace process.
