On Dec.16, 2016, an international seminar on security issues of CPEC was held at SIIS. Prof. Chen Dongxiao, SIIS President and Prof. Rifaat Hussain, Dean of the Department of Government & Public Policy, National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan) gave opening remarks.

 Nearly 20 participants from China and Pakistan had a discussion on three issues, including progress assessment of CPEC programs, regional situation that Pakistan is facing and the CPEC, internal security challenges to CPEC, and how China and Pakistan should do to safeguard the smooth advancement of CPEC further.
