On April 8, 2017, H.E. Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Norway visited SIIS and participated in the China-Norway Dialogue on the Changing Arctic and International Cooperation co-sponsored by SIIS and Polar Research Institute of China (PRIC).
In her speech, H.E. Erna Solberg points out that the Arctic is a region characterized by peace, stability and international cooperation and the fact that China is looking to the High North is positive. She also adds that today’s event highlights the close partnership between Norway and China in the Arctic. She is confident that China and Norway will enjoy even closer cooperation.
H.E. B?rge Brende, Minister of Foreign Affairs of
Norway, Consul-General of Norway in Shanghai, scholars from the Fridtjof
Nansen Institute, Norwegian Polar Institute, SIIS, Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai Ocean University and media professionals from China and Norway attended the dialogue.
