On May 8, 2017, Prof. Prof. Harry Harding and Prof. Syaru Shirley Lin from University of Virginia (U.S.) visited SIIS.
Prof. Yang Jiemian, chairman of SIIS Academic Affairs Council met with Prof. Harding. The two sides had a discussion on China-U.S. relations. Mr.Yang Li from SIIS and Ms. Guo Liyan from CUSEF attended the meeting.
Prof. Zhou Zhihuai, SIIS non-resident senior fellow & Vice President of the Law Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits had a discussion with Prof. Lin on cross-Straits relations and Hong Kong issue etc. Dr. Zhang Zhexin, Mr. Zhang Jian and Ms. Zheng Yingqin from the Institute for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Studies of SIIS participated in the meeting.
Prof. Harding also shared his insights on US-China relations with SIIS young fellows, graduate students, representatives from the China office of UVA and Alumni Association of UVA, CUSEF and media professionals. The speech on US-China Relations Since 1992: Have The Attempts To Build A Stable And Cooperative Relationship Succeeded? was hosted by Prof. Zhao Gancheng, senior fellow of SIIS.
