On June 12, 2017, Mr. Rigoberto Tiglao, regular columnist at the Manila Times, former Philippine Press Secretary and Ambassador to Greece and Cyprus visited SIIS.

President Chen Dongxiao met with Mr. and Mrs. Tiglao. They had a discussion on China’s experience of Reform and Opening-up, state governance in the age of globalization, and the anti-terrorism fight in the southern Philippines etc.

Prof. Yang Jiemian, chairman of SIIS Academic Affairs Council hosted a meeting with Mr. and Mrs. Tiglao. They had a discussion on the neighboring diplomacy of China and China-Philippines relations etc. Dr. Zhou Shixin from the Institute of Foreign Policy Studies and Dr. Feng Shuai from the Institute of International Strategic Studies participated in the meeting.
